Spent my dinner break in the sheep barn. The contraptions used to keep the sheep still while they groom them are super neat. This kid said that he takes electric shears to get the bulk of the wool off, then he uses this hand shears to clean up the shape.

I've got the next three days to spend at the fair. Be prepared for more fair excitement!

237 - First Day of the fair. I go for work 5 days this year. Always one of my favorite times of the year.
238 - Thomas Beach. The Minneapolitans are getting in some beach time before the fall. We're nearly there.
239 - Congrats to Ron Olson for his blue ribbon beans. He had much more success than I.
240 - What do you do with empty airport land by a major highway? Plant 365 sunflowers in a single file waving line, of course.

Bonus fair day for me. Saw the coronation of the butter princess and spent some time in the cattle barn before sunset. Too bad the vendors were closed. A corn dog dinner would have made this evening just that much better.

My garden is essentially a bust this year. The cold spring and shady yard are not conducive to good garden growth. I'll need to do some reading up this winter to figure out what I might have success with next year.

Took an 11 mile bike ride from my house across the river on St. Anthony Parkway down to Stinson and back. Great ride.

Minneapolis hip hop. That's right. This town has a bevy of excellent rappers. I met Dessa and got to shoot video of her concert at the West Bank Music Festival. She's amazing. Go look her up.
