Easter weekend

Mark saw my old electric race car track in a box in the basement and asked if we could set it up.  We dumped all the pieces on the floor, followed the directions (which my Dad had conveniently saved) and   tried to get it working.  The metal that runs through the track needed cleaning, but a bit of attention and some troubleshooting got it working again.

The Hammies

Long runs equals tight muscles.  I got a foam roller which hurts.  A lot.  And read that a baseball is a great way to loosen hamstrings.  It also hurts.  A lot.

Watching the Gophs in the tourney.  They lost.  You know who won?  The women's hockey team.  They won the National Championship.  And they did it by winning every single game they played this season.  No big deal.

Commitment

3.23.13
3.23.13

I've known since December that I was going to sign up for the marathon.  I planned all my training through race day and I told everyone that I was going to run it.  I've been wearing this headband on runs all winter as a symbol of my intention to sign up.  Yet today when I went to register I had to stop for a minute and do a gut check.  Was I really ready?  I guess I'll find out in 6 months.  I filled out the forms and paid my fees.  197 days to race day.

Gut feeling

3.20.13
3.20.13

I'm filling out a bracket and am joining the office pool.  I have never done so, I usually just spectate and cheer for the under dogs.  I made my picks completely by initial gut reaction.

My mom surprised me with a new necklace saying, "I thought you'd like it.  You wear these colors all the time!"  And I was, in fact, wearing those colors that very moment.

Tomorrow is the start of spring.  I have a few choice words to say to you, winter.

Betsy and Nat

I joined Betsy and Nat for dinner at their place.  Nat looks very 'Mad Men' in this photo which is why I picked it.

St. Paddy's Weekend

3.15.13

On my 6 year 'workversary' I learned how to use our Mobile Weather Watcher.  It's an SUV with live capabilities.  I drove it through a snowy rush hour to show the people what the roads were like on a snowy rush hour.

Today I put a camera on a guy removing ice dams from a house in Roseville.  He got video from the roof of me shooting video of him from the ground.

We needed to get outside after spending all day in convention rooms so me and Matt and Eric went to The Last Bookstore to find the book sculptures.

I got stuck at city hall tonight.  The item we were interested in was last on the agenda, number seven.  Two hours in and they were on item two.  We didn't stay.

Today ends the year in which I made a move and left behind 58 pounds.  Boo-yah.

I run faster.
I feel better.
My entire wardrobe has been replaced.
Hello, new dress!
