I'm finished with my current curtain project - four curtain panels for the two windows in my living room.  Not hard, but tedious.  Only a couple things to do in the living room and I can move on to a different space.  I think the dining room is next.

The sport

On Monday I went through with my plan to move my TV out of my living room and into the basement.  On Tuesday I realized that the Olympics were starting this week.  I love the Olympics.  I'll watch any sport - swimming, gymnastics, field hockey, archery - if they put it on TV, I'm there.

This morning I set the TV up in my dining room and watched cycling.  And rowing.  And water polo.  I love it.

Gone is my 2011 goal of always using my SLR camera.  While I'd love to carry it with me all the time, it's heavy and bulky and draws attention to itself and frankly, I don't want to.  I'm embracing the use of my little camera or even my cell phone.  What's that saying...  The best camera is the one you have with you.

Biking

I'm training for a duathlon.  I'm following a training program and am 85% sure that I'll sign up and race.  I got the running part down; I can run two 5Ks.  It's the 15 mile bike ride between the runs that I'm concerned about.  Today I took the bike out for 45 minutes and got in 8.75 miles.  I know nothing about bike racing so I have no clue if that is a good pace, but it felt good.  When I got home, I headed back out and ran 15 minutes.  Running feels painfully slow after biking.

Making lanyards with Mark.  I started many of these as a child, but have no recollection of ever using one.  I don't even think I ever finished one.

Goodbye, TV

I found an amazing wall unit from a retro sale this weekend and it fits my house perfectly.  I've moved my computer into the living room and have ditched the TV.  It's in the basement and I don't think I'll miss it.

Getting Started

What am I going to do?  What is my goal?  I have no idea.  But I want to start a project.  And I have to start somewhere.  And what better time than now, on my 30th birthday.
