Race day!

Twin Cities 10 mile!  Jamie and I ran together and quietly pushed each other harder than we had planned to run.  Subsequently, I ran this race 19 minutes faster than last year.  19 minutes!  And 10 minutes faster than my goal!  So stoked.

I captained the station team and all seven of our 10 milers finished in under 2 hours.  And our three marathoners ran well and finished.  Go team!

Road Trip West: Days 12-18!

Chris and I finished our trek.  26 miles(ish) in 3 days.  A truly great hike.  Something I've wanted to do for a long time.

I had a long run today and decided to take it easy with a little shopping and browsing in Denver.

Pre-lunch ice cream.  Tonight was Frank Turner night.  His show was killer.

Lots of driving.  More and more driving.  9 hours of driving to Omaha.  Thankfully my friends Andy and Jenny were there to greet me.  I was in Omaha for only 10 minutes before Andy made sure I had a cocktail in my hand.  Now that's an excellent host.

A Danish windmill in Elkhorn, Iowa.  I drove 12 miles out of the way to see this.  The billboards on the highway were too convincing.  My thoughts: I may be headed home, but I'm still on vacation.  Who cares when I get back to Minneapolis?

Road Trip West: Day 9, 10 and 11

Drove all day to get to Denver.  A good friend and delicious beer is my reward.

Backpacking in Rocky Mountain National Park.  We started in Grand Lake and hiked up the North Inlet trail.
